Grih Pravesh (House warming) Puja
Griha Pravesh Puja
Buying a house is a matter of great excitement for everyone. The new house is a source of new hopes and aspirations for the owner. Hence, the entry into new house has to be grand and auspicious.
Griha Pravesh is a ceremony performed on the occasion of one's first entry into a new house. Griha Pravesh Puja is usually centred around Lord Ganesh who bestows good fortune and riches to a family who prays to him devotedly. The pooja is done to ward of any negativity from the house and to have an auspicious beginning in the house.
The doors are decorated with mango leaves and fresh flowers. Banana stems are also tied to the poles for ushering in prosperity. Rangolis of rice flour are drawn at the entrance and at the doorway for decorative purposes.
